Catch Me If You Can - AZ

So this particular blog has been sadly ignored for a VERY long time. I've come to rectify this ...

In September, we were able to travel to AZ to spend a couple of days with my sister in Gilbert. We spent one day just recouperating from the 18 hour drive. Then the next day, we went to Freestone Park so Colbey could go skating and Landon, Ryleigh and mom could feed the ducks. (I called Scott from the park asking him to kill me! It is SSSSSOOOOOO freakin' HOT there!!!! He just laughed and promised I wouldn't have to live back there again.) This is weather that people die in! Fortunately, the back of the Pilot was stockpiled with water bottles and we went through the whole Sam's Club pallet of bottles just in that day.

It was perfect. Since we homeschool, we can take our vacations whenever we want and the park was empty because everyone in AZ was back in school. Colbey got the whole park to himself.

After Freestone Park, we went to Tempe Town Lake so Landon and Ryleigh could play at the Splash Pad. (Colbey skated some more around that area.)

Colbey is not real fond of having his picture taken so they all need to be on the sly. If he knows you are taking it, you will never see a smile (which he does do!) and now that his hair is even longer than in these pictures, you tend to just see Cousin It.

Scott flew into Phoenix International the next evening and we were able to spend some time with his Mom and Dad in Mesa before heading out to CA the next morning.
